Land clearing in NSW

According to the Wilderness Society, land clearing is out of control in New South Wales with an area equivalent to six SCGs lost every hour. Note to non-Australian readers: the SCG is the historic Sydney Cricket Ground where both cricket and AFL are played and is about 156 by 154 metres. This could equate to 100 000 hectares of bush lost a year.
There’s a link from the website where you can express your displeasure to the utterly ineffectual NSW state government, who promised to address this issue when elected in 2003. Contrast that to the recently-passed QLD legislation to end large-scale clearing. See, I knew moving to Queensland was a good idea.
